What I have to say today

Firstly I would like to say thank you to all the people in my life who have supported me and helped me get to the place where I am starting this journey.
I also acknowledge acknowledge the Gunditjmara the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live in, and pay my respects to their Elders past and present.
I found over recent years that my world has gotten smaller and my footprint within that world has also gotten smaller and I’m not happy about that as I don’t want to be somebody who stops doing the things that they enjoy out of apathy.
I’m not sure whether it is really in my wheelhouse or not but we will soon find out how faithful I can be to blogging as I have no social presence to speak of currently and this is more of an exercise for myself and other like-minded individuals who might want to journey with me in creating, learning and exploration.
This collection of works I am creating comes from Curio. Spending a lot of time reading about the 1800’s the romance of the unusual, appealed to me, the magic of little treasures we all have that tell the story of who we are, what we covet and that we care.
So I thought to myself I’m not going to think big any more as it was stifling my creativity, I’m not going to become micro or macro sizing my work because it’s popular, I am going to play to my strengths.
I am a natural storyteller so I’m going to tell a lot of little stories along with my art simple, banal to some yet hopefully interesting discoveries will come from it.
I’m going to think small thinking what I can do and make it work for me and for myself it’s not about doing perfect detailed rendering because it’s that’s kind of beyond me now. It is more about having the experience learning something, saying that I enjoy what I do and hopefully being happy that I have a finished product that I believe has merit.
